Monday's Update

Hello everyone,

I'm posting a quick update on Jan's behalf. I spoke to her earlier today, and she asked me to update you all.

Jan is really struggling with fatigue and just doesn't feel very well due to the chemo treatment she underwent last week. She had hoped to blog and to get out for a little while today, but ultimately didn't feel strong enough to do either. So she's feeling a bit discouraged. She'd hoped she'd have "bounced back" by now from the fatigue she'd been fighting over the weekend.

Her friend, Amy, returned home over the weekend as well. Some ladies from Gateway have been spearheading efforts to provide the family with meals, etc. I will post information about how to get involved with that later. Jan is so blessed at all the love and support that has been sent her way!

As you know, it's difficult for anyone to stay "up" emotionally when your body just feels awful. So now's the time for us to kick our prayers into overdrive! Let's believe God for a breakthrough for her today.

Blessings,

Cheri

Jan,

I can't even begin to tell you how sorry I am this has happened to you. But I also know that it will only be for a short season. Take comfort in the fact that the treatment will come to an end. We would count down by the weeks and then finally by the days. Keep on going, you can do this! We are all right beside you and praying for you. "Lord, please give my friend strength to walk this walk." Love, Kim

Thanks Cheri for updating. Jan, I hope you get rest and feel better very soon. I wish that you did not have to struggle through all this mess, but through this mess you will have a message of God's faithfulness to you in your time of need. Love you dearly.

Cheri ,thanks so much for posting for Jan. I trust that even in her moments of pain and fatigue, God is touching, healing and reigning. Today as Jan has came to my mind, I smiled....thankful for her incredibly resilient spirit and prayed....believing God to be present with her in a remarkable way.

Hi Jan....the first time I met you I thought, "What a strong woman to take on such a big feat!". That was at this last Pink Impact and I was a volunteer. Now I know why God made you so strong...please know that you are in my daily prayers. Let your strength be your guide...

Hello sweet friend ~

Jan, I have been praying for you since I heard about your condition from Devi. I wish I could hold you in my arms right now. I love you so much, Jan. My prayer is that God will powerfully heal you and grant you the desires of your heart. I believe in miracles!

My Dear Sweet Friend,

As always your grace is so abundant. You have always amazed me and drawn me to you by your love and spirit. The way you allow the Holy Spirit to move through you and over you is a gift to us all. While you fight this battle I feel like you are comforting me much more then I could ever comfort you. I wish so much that I was closer and could actually do something in the physical for you. All that I can do spiritually I am doing. I am flexing my prayer muscles in new ways. You and Joyna have always been the warriors, and now it is our turn to war on your behalf. Please know how much I love you.

Dear Jan,
Praying for you and wrote a good warfare prayer and then the computer lost it as I pushed publish. My husband and I would love to pray over you sometime when you are up to it at your house. We both pray in the healing rooms and he has been healed of lots of stuff. Sometime we could even call and talk about some healing scriptures or pray over the phone. Let us know-love, Holly Smith

God is Cheering for You
by Max Lucado

If your God is Mighty enough to ignite the sun, could it be that He is mighty enough to light your path?

God is for you. Not “may be,” not “has been,” not “was,” not “would be,” but “God is!” He is for you. Today. At this hour. At this minute. As you read this sentence. No need to wait in line or come back tomorrow. He is with you. He could not be closer than he is at this second. His loyalty won’t increase if you are better nor lessen if you are worse. He is for you.

God is for you. Turn to the sidelines; that’s God cheering your run. Look past the finish line; that’s God applauding your steps. Listen for him in the bleachers, shouting your name. Too tired to continue? He’ll carry you. Too discouraged to fight? He’s picking you up. God is for you.

God is for you. Had he a calendar, your birthday would be circled. If he drove a car, your name would be on his bumper. If there’s a tree in heaven, he’s carved your name in the bark. We know he has a tattoo, and we know what it says. “I have written your name on my hand,” he declares (Isa. 49:16).

Jan, I couldn't say it any better than Max today! From "Let the Journey Begin:God's Roadmap for New Beginnings."

I love you and pray for you often! Be strong and courageous! And be tired for a while - we understand!
