Hi! My name is Dana Miller and my daughter Ashley Miller sings on the Praise Team at Gateway. We pastor in Runaway Bay, Texas. I just wanted to encourage you--I was diagnosed with breast cancer in March 2008 and have been in the battle. And yes, what you have experienced with roller coaster emotions is normal. If you need help in learning how to tie scarves--I will be glad to help you. I didn't do the wigs--because of heat and I enjoyed the scarves. I had quite a few of them before I got my hair back. I used to do hair and was licensed, so if you need someone to cut it off when it starts coming out-let me know. My husband and 17 other men in our church shaved their heads with me. We had a party and it did make it easier. Yes, mine grew back curly and silver, but it is back to normal now. It was funny, because I have never had curly hair--it was a new and fun experience. I ended up having a double mastectomy in February and the start of reconstruction. I am waiting now for the second reconstructive surgery. I am also still on Herceptin--the drug created for Her 2 positive breast cancer. I was determined to look my best every time I went out of the house to chemo, church, and such. If I put on makeup and dressed nice--it made me feel better and easier for the treatments. I had the opportunity to minister to others and show several other women how to tie their scarf to look like mine. Just know you are not in this alone. I know you know Jesus is walking through this with you, but there are others of us who have been there and want to encourage you. Ashley told me about you today and you are now on my prayer list. I had people around the world praying for me and I know that is what has gotten me this far. I love you in the name of Jesus and because of His blood we are sisters. You can count on me. I know you have many around you and I don't want to bug you. Everyone handles it differently, but if you want to talk--I am available. 940-575-1998.
Lord, I lift my sister Jan up to You. I pray for strength for her, for encouragement. I pray she draws near to You and sees You in a whole new way. She will be amazed at Your glory and majesty. You are the great healer--and I pray in the name of Jesus for her healing. I pray for the right doctors and for wisdom and discernment for them. Work a miracle in her life to allow others to see You. I pray for her family--that they will draw near to each other as they draw near to You. Let her husband and children see You in a mighty way and sense your loving arms around them. I pray for Jan in those nights when she can't sleep and is awake to have amazing time with You and know You are using her in an awesome way. Give her courage and steadfastness. Give her strength and keep her well through this time. Let her life be an amazing and awesome testimony to your love and goodness. In Jesus Name, Amen.
I have also found that eating healthy and right helps with the treatments and cancer. A great book is The PH Balance Diet by Bharti Vyas and Suzanne Le Quesne. My oncologist is in Garland and is a wonderful Godly man. I know you are probably happy with yours, but if you ever need anything and I mean anything, please don't hesitate to call me.

Hi Friend..
I thought about you all day yesterday and how much I can tell you hate feeling bad and needing to rest. I want you to think about when you were pregnant and feeling bad and needing to rest,,, what that brought forth was four beautiful children who bless the world.. Now when you feel bad and need to rest think about what you are bringing forth, a new healthy body, free of cancer, that will bless the world.
I love you. Betty

I received an email from Devi updating me on your "status". I want you to know that I am praying for you and that you are loved all the way from Houston!!

Reading through your blog has reminded me of the battle... You are going to have a love from Jesus tat others wont be able to understand and a relationship with Him that women will long for and THIS will be the foundation of your destiny! He is preparing you to posses the ONE thing that can penetrate the human soul and take it straight to the throne and that is true love! I am reminded of a quote by Mother Theresa "We cannot all do great things, but only small things with Great love". Every small thing you do is poured from a heart that knows what great love truly is! I am excited to experience this journey unfold and to see all the supernatural things that God is going to to for women through you. You are a priceless gem and a blessing to all who know you!

It made me laugh when I saw that you are still promoting women's events. :) Go Pink! Little did I know that when you started our Wednesday Morning Bible Study at the beginning of the year, that just a few months later you would be facing such an incredible battle. Thank you for being obedient to start that, because not only were we all strengthened spiritually, but it allowed each of us to get to know you. And now we are standing with you because God knit our hearts together. And I believe He used that time to strengthen you for these days. He always knows what we need, doesn't He? :) Phil. 4:19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Love you, Joyce

I just know the Lord is so pleased. Bless you, Jan Greenwood, for looking for the goodness of the Lord and for thanking Him for all He's doing and will do. "Though the oceans rise and thunders roar, I will rise above the storm..." He makes it possible. Love and hugs, Judy Woodliff
